Antoine Favennec

Baigné dans un environnement culturel et musical riche, Antoine Favennec débute le saxophone à l’âge de 8 ans.
Après 7 années de formation classique, il débute le jazz à l’âge de 14 ans, accompagné par son professeur et mentor Nicolas Folmer, il et obtient son DEM (Diplôme d’Études Musicales) en 2012.
Parallèlement, il se produit dans la région parisienne avec Leon Parker et intègre en 2012 le Leon Parker trio jazz + guest.

Dès 2014, il joue dans les formations de Nicolas Folmer Horny Tonky Experience et Tribute to Miles Davis avec lesquelles il se produit encore.

Au cours de sa jeune carrière, Antoine Favennec entreprend divers projets tels que MANUA en 2014 avec lequel il sort un EP Manua (de son deuxième prénom tahitien).

En 2017, il crée un projet unique « Antoine Favennec & the Electric Cookers » avec Laurent Coulondre / claviers ; Jérémy Bruyère / basse électrique et Arthur Hnatek /batterie, avec lesquels il se produit au Cully Jazz Festival.

En 2017, il crée PHASM et sort un premier album en octobre 2017 au Chorus de Lausanne (CH), formation qui se produit actuellement dans différents festivals.

Durant sa carrière, Antoine Favennec a joué avec des artistes tels que Dave Liebman, Emil Spaniy, Nicolas Folmer, Laurent Vernerey, François Jeannot, Richard Galliano, Pierre Drevet, François Lindeman, Laurent Coulondre, Arthur Hnatek, Jérémy Bruyère et bien d’autres dans les festivals de Cully Jazz, Wolfi Jazz, Saveurs Jazz, Jazz à Porquerolles, Jazz à Marciac, ou les salles parisiennes Duc des Lombards, Sunset & Sunside.

 

Parallèlement à sa carrière artistique, il intègre en 2014 la Haute École de Musique de Lausanne et obtient son Bachelor en 2016 et termine son Master Performance en juin 2018.

Antoine Favennec started playing saxophone at the age of eight, nourished from an early age by a culturally and musically rich family environment.

After a classical training of seven years, he began playing jazz at the age of fourteen, accompanied by his jazz teacher and mentor Nicolas Folmer. He gained his Music Conservatory Diploma in 2012.

While still a student he began performing in Paris with Leon Parker and in 2012 joined the Leon Parker Jazz Trio + guest. Since 2014 he has been performing with Nicolas Folmer’s Horny Tonky Experience and Tribute to Miles Davis.

Throughout his early career, Antoine Favennec initiated various different projects, such as MANUA in 2014, from which he released the EP Manua (his middle name: a throw-back to his childhood spent in Tahiti).

In 2014 he formed a new band : “Antoine Favennec & The Electric Cookers” with Laurent Coulondre/keyboard,  Jérémy Bruyère/bass guitar and Arthur Hnatek/drums. The group performed at the Cully Jazz Festival.

In 2017 he formed the band PHASM, and released their first album in October 2017, performed live for the first time at the jazz club Chorus in Lausanne (Switzerland). PHASM is currently on tour performing at different festivals in France and Switzerland.

Throughout his career, Antoine Favennec has played with a wide range of performers, including Dave Liebman, Emil Spaniy, Nicolas Folmer, Laurent Vernerey, François Jeannot, Richard Galliano, Pierre Drevet, François Lindeman, Laurent Coulondre, Arthur Hnatek, Jérémy Bruyère and many others. He has performed at various different festivals, such as Cully Jazz, Wolfi Jazz, Saveurs Jazz, Jazz à Porquerolles, Jazz à Marciac, the Montreux Jazz Festival. He has also performed in Paris at the Duc des Lombards and Sunset & Sunside jazz clubs.

While pursuing his career as a performing musician, Antoine began studying at the Lausanne Higher School of Music (Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne) in 2014, where he gained his Bachelor Degree in 2016, and will complete his Masters Degree in Music Performance in June 2018.
